(LifeSiteNews) – Canadian Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre was quick to call out the horrific shooting of Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, saying political “violence is never justified” while calling for prayers for him and his family.
“We must all strongly denounce the shooting of Charlie Kirk,” Poilievre wrote Wednesday afternoon on X before it was announced that Kirk had died.
“Political violence is NEVER justified. The attacker must be brought to justice. And free speech must be upheld. Pray for Mr. Kirk and his family.”
New Canadian Conservative MP Andrew Lawton had this to say on X about Kirk being shot, while calling for prayers for him and his family:
“There is a special place in hell for those who seek to settle disagreement with bullets. Political violence is deplorable and despicable. Free speech is sacred. Charlie Kirk is an unequivocal defender of it, for himself and his critics.”
“I am praying for Charlie and his family.”
Conservative MP Raquel Dancho called for prayers for Kirk and his family as well.
“Truly horrific. He’s a young father and husband. Political leaders must denounce and speak out against this sickening and terrifying attack, and against any violence that undermines public safety and democratic debate,” she wrote on X.
“Praying for a miracle recovery and for his family.”
As reported by LifeSiteNews, Kirk, who is the CEO of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was shot in the neck during an event on the campus of Utah Valley University and later died.
