The FBI is asking for help in identifying the “person of interest” in the assassination of Charlie Kirk. He is visible in the screenshots below.

What, you may ask, is a “person of interest”? He is generally someone federal law enforcement believes may have information about a crime. The term is often used to draw the public’s attention to someone without formally accusing him of committing the crime, but in this case I think we can infer that the FBI believes him to be the man.

The FBI has also offered a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the murderer. Take your cue from the depiction of the “person of interest” in the FBI’s X post above.

The FBI has also announced that it has recovered what is believed to be the weapon used to kill Charlie — a “high-powered bolt action rifle.” On a related not: “Investigators have also collected footwear impression, a palm print, and forearm imprints for analysis.” Putting all other reports aside for the moment, one can’t help but deduce that the assassin’s world is contracting by the second and that the FBI is closing in on him.
