Prince Harry is hoping that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will have a chance to be “educated in the UK”, a friend of his has suggested. Harry travelled back to the UK earlier this week to conduct a series of charitable engagements – with Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, remaining at home in California with Meghan Markle.
The royal’s spokesperson claimed, following the four-day trip, that he “loved being back” in his home country. As well as various engagements, such as appearing at the WellChild Awards on Monday, Harry also made time to meet King Charles for the first time in 19 months.
It has emerged that Harry is now keen for Archie and Lilibet to experience a British education – just like he did as a child.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, a friend of the duke recently said: “I can tell you that Harry wants to educate the children here in the UK.”
The friend has also claimed that Harry is feeling anxious that Archie and Lilibet may “miss out” the “extensive” lifelong contacts made at school in the UK – which was said in reference to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The friend added: “Harry feels his children are missing out on the extensive family network that their niece and nephews are enjoying.”
George, 12, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 7, all currently attend Lambrook School in Berkshire, which is in close proximity to Adelaide Cottage.
Speaking further of Harry, Archie and Lilibet, the friend added: “Harry wants his children to have the very best education.
“He has retained his closest friendship group of confidants from his days at school at Ludgrove and Eton. He wants that for his own children.”
Although Harry will have to speak with Meghan, who is said to be opposed to sending their children to boarding school, the King is said to be “delighted”.
The Sussexes have been approached for comment.
