ABC News Reporter’s Psychotic Response to Kirk Assassin’s Text Messages Is Simply Unbelievable – RedState

What I’m about to share with you is going to seem like a parody at first. The words coming out of the reporter’s mouth are going to sound so unbelievable that you’re going to wonder if I got trolled by an AI deep fake. But no, it’s real, and it’s one of the most psychotic things I’ve ever seen from the mainstream press, and to be sure, that’s a pretty high bar to reach given the industry’s history.

On Tuesday, Utah prosecutors announced the formal charges against the assassin who took Charlie Kirk’s life a week prior. In the wake of that, text messages from Tyler Robinson between him and his trans-identifying boyfriend were released. They included a confession to the heinous crime and the shooter’s admission that he killed Kirk because he felt the conservative activist was “spreading hatred” that could “not be negotiated with.”

But while Fox News properly described the text messages as “chilling,” ABC News took another path. Enter reporter Matt Gutman, who had this to say. Again, as nuts as it is, this is real. This actually aired on national television.

GUTMAN: I don’t know that we have seen an alleged murder with such specific text messages about the alleged murder weapon, where it was hidden, how it was placed, what was on it, but also, it was very touching in a way that I think many of us didn’t expect. A very intimate portrait into this relationship between the suspect’s roommate and the suspect himself, with him repeatedly calling his roommate, who is transitioning, calling him “my love,” and “I want to protect you, my love.”

So, it was this duality of someone who the attorney said not only jeopardized the life of Charlie Kirk and the crowd, but was doing it in front of children, which is one of the aggravating circumstances of this case. And then, on the other hand, he was, you know, speaking so lovingly about his partner. So a very interesting and, as Pierre said, riveting press conference.

I’m at a loss for words, though I know I have to come up with some now to complete this article. Tyler Robinson murdered a husband and father of two young children in cold blood, and ABC News is all but justifying it by explaining that the shooter just wanted to “protect” his trans-furry boyfriend and that their relationship was “touching.” The level of depravity in Gutman’s description of the situation is unfathomable.

And lest anyone think he misspoke or perhaps went on to regret his framing, the reporter doubled down in a later segment, again claiming the shooter’s affection was “touching.”

GUTMAN: And then those text messages, and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a press conference in which we’ve read text messages that are A, so fulsome, so robust, so apparently, allegedly self-incriminating and yet, on the other hand, so touching, right, with the suspect reaching out to his roommate, who was allegedly his boyfriend, who we understand, you know, identified as male at birth, now identifies as female. And the terminology he used, he was trying to protect him. He kept calling him ‘my love.’ ‘My reason for doing this is to protect you,’ you know, but also asking him to delete the messages and not speak to law enforcement. So there’s this, this heartbreaking duality that we’re seeing very tragically playing out here.

I honestly feel queasy after reading that. It’s that shocking and disgusting. A national news reporter on a major broadcast network waxed poetic about a murderer’s supposed virtue in wanting to “protect” his transgender boyfriend, describing their conversation as “touching” and “intimate.”

I don’t know how Gutman isn’t fired by the end of the day. This is that insane, and it’s yet more evidence of just how grotesque the mainstream press is. There is no bottom. There’s nothing left to redeem. The world would be a better place if these legacy news outlets ceased to exist.
