ABC TV Station in Sacramento Hit by Gunfire, One Day After Protest Over Kimmel Suspension – RedState

We’ve been covering the furor on the left over the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s show. Kimmel made comments on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” implying that the suspect in the Charlie Kirk killing was MAGA, and claiming MAGA was trying to capitalize on Kirk’s murder.

ABC “indefinitely preempted” Kimmel’s show on Wednesday, when many of their affiliate stations decided not to run the show.

Folks on the left freaked out, claiming that this was President Donald Trump shutting down free speech. They seemed more upset about the Kimmel suspension than about the killing of Charlie Kirk. However, the powers that be pulled the show because they were worried that Kimmel was about to make things worse by hitting at MAGA even more in his next show.

Some were not happy about it and protested at ABC TV stations, including one in Sacramento, California, on Thursday. They had signs, including one calling Trump “Hitler” and a “fascist enabler.” They also said “free speech is a right,” not understanding that yes, private companies can decide to pull a show, and that isn’t a violation of free speech.

Now, just one day later, there’s been a drive-by shooting through a station window that faces the street.

There were at least three bullets fired. Thankfully, no one was injured; there were no people inside the building at the time, according to the police.

‘We haven’t had a lot of attacks on our media partners, and we’d like to keep it that way,’ Officer Anthony Gamble of the Sacramento Police Department said.

‘To those that may have been responsible for this, and I hope you see this, we’re not going to stop looking for you.  This is unacceptable behavior. It’s not going to be tolerated in Sacramento’, he added.

The gunfire was reported around 1:30 p.m., just 24 hours after around 15 people gathered outside ABC10 (KXTV) to protest the suspension of Kimmel.  [….]

‘All of our employees are safe and unharmed,’ Tegna, KXTV’s parent company, spokesperson Molly McMahon said.

The station said they were fully cooperating with police, and taking “additional measures” to ensure the safety of their employees.

Police don’t know yet whether it was random or targeted, or if it was related to the Kimmel controversy. There’s been no information on a suspect yet.

As we reported earlier, some on the left have been calling for a boycott of ABC and Disney.

Here’s Another Big Thing That May Have Factored Into the Kimmel Suspension

I don’t know what the boycotters think they can achieve with this. But the ratings have already been a big indication that people don’t care for the show. And ultimately, it’s always about a business decision.
