The Met Office‘s current outlook for Sunday to Tuesday, predicts conditions “turning colder from Sunday as heavy rain clears to the south.”

“Drier on Monday and Tuesday for most, with plenty of sunny spells, but showers continuing in the southeast.”

A yellow warning for rain is in place from 9am on Saturday to 6am on Sunday, affecting various regions, including: East Midlands, North East England, North West England, SW Scotland, Lothian Borders, Wales, West Midlands, and Yorkshire & Humber.

Britons have been warned there is “a small chance that heavy rainfall may cause some transport disruption and flooding”.

“A band of rain, heavy at times, across Wales, northern England and southern Scotland is expected to remain slow-moving during Saturday morning before making erratic eastward progress, eventually clearing early on Sunday,” the warning reads.

“Whilst there is still some uncertainty in the focus for the heaviest rainfall, 20-30 mm of rain is likely to fall quite widely and there is a chance that 60-80 mm of rain could fall in places.

“These higher accumulations may not be confined to high ground only. Due to this uncertainty, further changes to the warning area are possible.

“As the area of rain clears east, a spell of strong northwesterly winds may develop later Saturday and Sunday morning, most likely towards North Sea coasts.”
