We’ve seen some sick reactions to conservative leader Charlie Kirk’s murder, with Democrat politicians and the mainstream media taking turns seeing who can be the most vile.
Students and teachers have certainly shown their depravity, as we have covered, but one guy stands out as being among the worst of the worst. He actually reenacted Kirk getting shot in the neck—over and over again—while spitting at Charlie’s supporters who were celebrating his life, as our Katie Jerkovich reported.
The man, who was identified as Devion Canty Jr., was promptly, and rightfully, expelled from the school, although he says he made the decision to leave himself.
Warning: Disturbing footage.
Hey Texas State.
This conduct is not accepted at our schools.
Expel this student immediately.
Mocking assassination must have consequences. https://t.co/lR0ovIDLBL

Devion evidently doesn’t think the whole thing is so funny now, because he’s now reportedly set up a GoFundMe begging you to chip in for his “educational expenses.” I don’t know about you, but I’m keeping my wallet closed for the moment.
There is gall, and then there is unbelievable gall.
Guy who reenacted and mocked Charlie Kirk killing now reportedly wants you to chip in to help him out.

It was just a simple mistake, the GoFundMe page says (it’s still active as of this writing):
“Recently, I faced a situation where I had to choose between immediate expulsion or withdrawing from the university,” Canty Jr said on the crowdfunding page. “I made the decision to withdraw—not because I wanted to leave, but for my own safety and the well-being of the campus community.”
Canty claimed he was being targeted as an “out-of-control, disrespectful young Black man” and that he was just a “passionate student who made a mistake in the heat of the moment,” he wrote in his self-run fundraiser.
That’s a hell of a “mistake in the heat of the moment,” dude. The kind of mistake that makes you unfit for the university. “Mistake[s] in the heat of the moment” often lead to jail time, and aren’t an excuse for despicable behavior, even for young people.
His actions can’t simply be explained by passion; they can only be explained by a lack of humanity and sick impulses:
Canty, who named his fundraiser “going back to txst,” was captured on video shouting at mourners on campus after Kirk was struck by a single gunshot by alleged assassin Tyler Robinson during an event at Utah Valley University.
“Charlie Kirk got hit in the neck, b****!” Canty yelled in the video, slapping his neck and imitating the recoil of a bullet’s impact.
Unbelievably, he still hopes to return to Texas State:
“This fundraiser will help me cover the costs of pursuing my education elsewhere or taking the necessary steps to return to Texas State,” he wrote. “I still believe in my education and my future, and I would love to be welcomed back on campus one day.”
How about a hard no.
Actions have consequences, and a quick “oops, sorry” while begging for money is not going to suddenly wipe your record clean. Perhaps this young man can learn from his twisted mistake and proceed on to lead a productive life—although I’m not hopeful based on the evidence—but I certainly don’t see a road back to Texas State. There would have to be a heck of a lot more of an apology and a real effort toward redemption than this before you can simply pretend this one never happened.
Good luck. You’ll need it.
