White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said she couldn’t be prouder to work for President Donald Trump, saying he “took a sledgehammer to the failing globalist world order” at the United Nations in New York City on Tuesday.
Leavitt appeared Tuesday evening on Fox News’ “Primetime with Jesse Watters.” The host asked Leavitt about Trump’s roasting of world leaders during the United Nations General Assembly, when he didn’t hold back and called them out in brilliant fashion, as RedState reported.

“I am proud to work for President Trump every day, Jesse, but I was especially proud watching the President of the United States of America bring common sense to an organization that has made no sense for far too long,” Leavitt said.
“The president gave some tough love,” she added. “He said you are all destroying your own countries. And the United States of America was just being destroyed by one of your own, a globalist [former President] Joe Biden, who had no idea what he was doing. The president took a sledgehammer to the failing globalist world order.”
She highlighted parts of Trump’s UN speech when he called on all of these countries to have pride in themselves like we do in America.
“They should be proud of their own heritage and culture,” Leavitt said. “And Japan is beautiful and Italy is beautiful and the UK is beautiful because they all have their own unique history, and culture, and heritage. And they need to protect that just like we are doing here in the United States of America.”

Earlier in the day, Leavitt posted on X part of Trump’s speech at the UN, when he talked about the importance of countries securing their borders.

Below is the part of Trump’s speech she mentioned. It’s very good and I think it’s worth pointing out.
It reads:
“What makes the world so beautiful is that each country is unique. But to stay this way, every sovereign nation must have the right to control their own borders—and to limit the sheer numbers of migrants entering their countries. Proud nations must be allowed to protect their communities and prevent their societies from being overwhelmed by people they have never seen before. Where migrants have violated laws, lodged false asylum claims, or claimed refugee status for illegitimate reasons, they should, in many cases, be SENT HOME. And while we will always have a big heart for places and people that are struggling, the truly compassionate answer is to solve the problems in THEIR countries, not to create new problems in OUR countries.
According to the Council of Europe, in 2024, almost 50% of inmates in German prisons were foreign nationals or migrants. In Austria, the number was 53%. In Greece, the number was 54%. In Switzerland, it’s 72%.
When your prisons are filled with so-called asylum-seekers who repaid kindness with crime, it is time to END the failed experiment of Open Borders.”
She closed out her post with an “Amen,” and I have to admit I had the same reaction when I heard the speech. It is so great to once again have someone in the White House who cares about what is best for America, not the globalists.
