Motorists are being encouraged to allow extra time before setting off this morning following delays on the M11 southbound.
National Highways says “significant disruption” is expected to continue throughout rush hour and could impact journeys towards both central London and the busy A406 North Circular.
There are 90-minute delays on the M11 southbound between Junction 6 and Junction 4 in Essex after a “serious overnight collision”.
Lanes remain closed on the section of road, with traffic being managed via the hard shoulder.
Motorists are also being urged to plan ahead and consider alternative routes.
