Sisters who destroyed shrine left begging for money online after being fired

Two sisters who were caught on video destroying a memorial to assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Arkansas have resorted to begging for money online after losing their jobs.

Kerri and Kaylee Rollo, 23 and 22, were arrested in Bentonville and charged with criminal mischief shortly after footage went viral on social media.

Police said Kaylee faces an additional charge of obstruction of governmental operations.

In the video, Kerri was heard saying Mr Kirk “lived as he died – promoting violence”, as she tore up messages of support and stomped on candles.

The 23-year-old was also heard saying “record all you want” while giving the middle finger to the person filming her destructive rampage, before shouting “f*** Charlie Kirk”.

Kerri lost her job at the Bella’s Table restaurant shortly after she was identified in the footage.

The restaurant addressed the situation in a statement, which read: “We understand your outrage over this incident.

“The individual who defaced the Charlie Kirk’s memorial does not represent or define our company, nor the hard-working team that serves our community every day.

“Please know that we are addressing this matter internally with the seriousness it deserves.”

Lacy Christian, who claimed to be the mother of Kaylee’s now ex-boyfriend, said her son had dumped the suspected vandal after the incident and – she had kicked her out of her home.

Ms Christian said that Kaylee had been living in her home for more than a year and had never previously taken issue with her opinions.

She wrote on social media: “I will not allow someone living in my home to be OK or celebrate a murder… and I will never allow someone to live in my home who is OK with destroying a memorial for someone else.”

Now, the sisters have set up a GoFundMe page to pay for their legal costs.

The donation page reads: “After the recent events Charlie Kirk’s death, my sibling and I are being doxxed online and my sibling was fired from their job.

“This is direct violation of their first amendment rights and unconstitutional. Please help my sibling while they look for another job and stand against the tyranny that is creeping into the country.”

Kaylee updated the page after being arrested, claiming to have been “threatened, doxxed, harassed and fired”.

The 22-year-old goes on to plead the public to help fund the sister’s legal representation and court costs.

Astonishingly, the fundraiser has received almost $16,000 (£11,892) in donations so far.

Benton County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that it takes acts of vandalism, particularly those directed toward community memorials, “very seriously”.

Kerri and Kaylee are due to appear in court on October 22.
