The return of Kimmel | Power Line

Of course, I didn’t watch last night. I don’t recall ever watching an episode of his late night show. I lost touch with Mr. Kimmel after he left The Man Show in 2003.

So, I only know what’s been reported in the media. I’m told that Kimmel’s monologue ran some 20 minutes (yeesh). As expected, there was no apology, some crocodile tears, Jimmy casting himself as the victim.

The New York Post reports,

Jimmy Kimmel shatters usual ratings in record-breaking ‘JKL!’ return despite Nexstar, Sinclair blackouts.

Millions did watch. I won’t be watching tonight, either, nor will the bulk of last night’s viewers. It seems that Nexstar and Sinclair are holding firm on their boycotts.

Lest we forget what Kimmel actually said,

The MAGA gang [is] desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.

The Post reports elsewhere,

Jimmy Kimmel accused of lying again about casting blame for Charlie Kirk assassination

The stock of parent company Walt Disney (ticker symbol: DIS) went up over 1 percent today on Kimmel’s return, on a day when the overall market was down.

I’m guessing by this time next week, Kimmel will have returned to his well-earned late-night obscurity.
