A migrant child has died in the English Channel overnight, as hundreds more attempt to cross for the second day running.
The incident near the port Boulogne happened in the early hours, as a migrant dinghy got into difficulties just off Écault beach.
Rescue services removed 48 migrants from the boat and took them ashore.
A child was found unresponsive and died despite attempts at resuscitation.
Several other migrants were treated for the effects of the cold.
The latest tragedy follows three deaths in the Channel less than 24 hours earlier.
Two female migrants died in their badly overcrowded boat near Boulogne overnight into Saturday.
A few hours later, the body of a male migrant was found floating in the water near Dunkirk.

PAOn Sunday, for the second day in a row, hundreds of migrants are taking advantage of an improvement in weather conditions to try to make the illegal crossing.
GB News has been told that around 300 migrants have either reached the UK or are currently attempting to get to the UK.
Around 50 migrants arrived in the early hours of Sunday.
Just before 10:30am, the Border Force vessel Hurricane arrived into Dover harbour with another 132 migrants on board.
On Saturday, almost 900 migrants made the illegal voyage.
The latest arrivals have taken the number of migrants who have made the crossing so far this year to more than 33,300.
Commenting on the child’s death, Cecile Gressier, prosecutor in the French port town of Boulogne-sur-Mer, said: “An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the death.
“The victim’s age and nationality have not been determined.”
