(LifeSiteNews) — Pete Hegseth, U.S. Secretary of the recently renamed Department of War, told the nation’s top military brass that the Department of War will no longer be the “Department of Woke,” signalling a restoration of high standards and common-sense policies within every branch of the military.
“Today, we end the War on Warriors,” declared Hegseth at his presentation before a reported 800 generals and admirals at Quantico Marine Base in Virginia. He called for increasing military readiness, in large part by rooting out woke policies and woke personnel which have infiltrated the entire military in recent years.
“This administration has done a great deal from day one to remove the social justice, politically correct and toxic ideological garbage that had infected our department, to rip out the politics,” noted Hegseth.
“No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses, no more climate change worship. No more division, distraction, or gender delusions. No more debris,” declared Hegseth.
Hegseth offered a litmus test to gauge the culture of the U.S. military: “Would I want my son to join the military?”
“At the War Department, we must restore a ruthless, dispassionate, and common-sense application of standards” said Hegseth.
“The era of politically correct, overly sensitive, don’t hurt anyone’s feelings leadership ends right now,” he announced.
“Our war fighters are entitled to be led by the best and most capable leaders,” said Hegseth. “We have a sacred duty to ensure that our warriors are led by the most capable and qualified combat leaders.”
“The military has been forced by foolish and reckless politicians to focus on the wrong things. In many ways, this speech is about fixing decades of decay,” said Hegseth. “We are clearing out the debris, removing the distractions. We’re ending the war on warriors.”
“For too long, we’ve promoted too many uniformed leaders for the wrong reasons. Based on their race, based on gender quotas, based on historic so-called firsts.”
“Foolish and reckless political leaders set the wrong compass heading, and we lost our way. We became the woke department,” argued Hegseth, adding, “but not anymore.”
“An entire generation of generals and admirals were told that they must parrot the insane fallacy that ‘our diversity is our strength.’ Of course, we know, our unity is our strength,” he said.
“They had to put out dizzying DEI and LGBTQI+ statements. They were told females and males are the same thing, or that males who think they’re females are totally normal,” he recounted.
“They were told that we need a green fleet and electric tanks. They were told to kick out Americans who refused an emergency vaccine,” said Hegseth. “They followed civilian policies set by foolish and reckless political leaders.”
“Leaders who embraced woke policies not because they were forced to but because they supported the ideologies behind them will no longer have a place in the U.S. military,” he said.
He encouraged those in the audience whose hearts sank because of his message that they need to resign immediately.
“This is life and death,” said Hegseth. “No more distractions, no more political ideologies, no more political debris.”
