Secretary of War Pete Hegseth made a shocking announcement about enlistment after ridding the U.S. military of its woke invasion, and he credited President Donald Trump’s leadership as the main reason.
During Trump’s cabinet meeting at the White House on Thursday, Hegseth revealed that recruitment and reenlistment were at record levels, exceeding goals they had set for the year.

WOWWW 🤯
In the first TWO WEEKS of FY 2026, the Marine Corps has already reached its year-long reenlistment goal.

“We saw record recruitment in 2025, Mr. President,” Hegseth said in front of the press. “The first two weeks of [Fiscal Year] 2026 [which starts in October] already blows that out …[FY 2026] already blows it out the water.”
“In fact, reenlistment has already reached its year-long goal, in the Marine Corps, in 2026,” he added, to which Trump responded, “record stuff.”
“There’s no other way to create that kind of love and enthusiasm than with your leadership, sir,” Hegseth continued.
The secretary made it clear there’s one reason for all this interest in the military, and it’s because of Trump. And it’s just more proof of how wrong the left is about what Americans want. It’s concrete numbers showing that they are all in for changes being made by Hegseth and President Trump’s administration.
The Secretary of War has instituted numerous changes, which include getting rid of Pride crap and DEI, after he previously defended Trump’s sensible Defense Department policy, which was based on President Trump’s Executive Order 14183 (Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness – The White House). The policy ordered that the military can no longer recruit transgenders and that transgenders are not eligible for retention in the military, RedState reported
Those changes have also included returning to things that make the military great, like lifting a ban on powerful basic training tactics, setting a directive that generals need to be fit and disciplined, and even cracking down on shabby military barracks.

As my RedState colleague Becky Noble reported, Hegseth recently announced “the formation of a new task force within the next 30 days to address the long-standing, deplorable living conditions at barracks across all branches of the military in the country.”
Our warfighters deserve the best.

Noble wrote:
As with most things, the [former President Joe] Biden administration failed to address the unacceptable conditions that were found and documented in a 2023 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report that revealed subpar living conditions at the barracks. During the announcement, Hegseth stated, “Every warfighter of our joint force deserves housing that is clean, comfortable, and safe.”
Once again, Trump and Hegseth have support from Americans for what they are doing to Make America Great Again.
