Cruise ship enthusiasts are in for a treat. Trafalgar has announced plans to introduce a third river cruise ship to its portfolio in 2027. The escorted land tour specialist, part of TTC Tour Brands, began selling its first itineraries in May this year for two ships, Trafalgar Reverie and Trafalgar Verity, which will sail the Rhine and Danube from spring 2026.
Trafalgar is a UK-based travel company specialising in escorted tours and holiday experiences around the world. Over the years, the company has expanded its offerings to include river cruises, combining the comfort of modern ships with the discovery of iconic European waterways. Speaking at this year’s ABTA Travel Convention, TTC Tour Brands managing director Kelly Jackson described this as “just the beginning” of the company’s river cruise programme.
She said: “With Trafalgar, we have such a loyal fan base and they want to keep travelling with us, so we’ve needed to introduce other ways of travel.
“We’ve recently launched river cruising with Trafalgar, and we want to be as seamless cruising the streets of the Alps as we are on the rivers.
“We’ve got two river ships about to launch for 2026, and we are about to launch a third for 2027, so this is just the start.
“We want to go multimodal, so [we will] have various different types of experiences we’ll see further down the tracks.”
Trafalgar’s first two river ships, Trafalgar Reverie and Trafalgar Verity, will sail on the Rhine and Danube from next spring. The programme includes Christmas cruises. The Danube trip, which takes passengers through Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. The Rhine journey takes travellers through Switzerland, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
