From the U.K. Daily Mail,
A gang of brazen thieves dropped the priceless Eugénie Crown outside the Louvre in Paris during a jaw-dropping daylight heist of the world’s most visited museum.
Here is my No. 1 suspect,
An early headline on the caper invoked the Mission Impossible franchise. But as I read the details, all I could hear in my head were the opening notes on the saxophone of the Henry Mancini classic. And that was before I read about the dropped crown.
The Daily Mail reports,
Officers rushed to the scene and were pictured inspecting the elevator, resembling a giant ladder, which had been left up against the historical stone walls of the Louvre after the gang rushed off with the loot.
Inspector Clouseau arrives on the scene in his Peugeot and proceeds to misinterpret all the obvious evidence. (That’s Chief Inspector in the later pictures).
The thieves don’t have to be good, just better than France’s finest.
