Another crime story soon to be disappeared. From the Minneapolis Star Tribune,
Halloween overnight shooting kills one, injures two in Dinkytown.
For those who don’t know, Dinkytown is the small commercial/retail neighborhood adjacent to the University of Minnesota’s main campus in central Minneapolis. Details on the incident that occurred around 2:40 a.m. Saturday morning.
Police suspect that automatic gunfire killed one person and injured two others, including a student, overnight on Halloween near the University of Minnesota campus.
“Automatic gunfire”? Yikes.
Naturally, “No arrests have been made.” Did the “automatic gunfire” kill and injure, or was there any human element involved? The University’s police chief noted,
He said that U police issued multiple notifications to stay clear of the area after the shots were reported, including descriptions of the suspects.
In fact, the University issued three (3) public safety alerts that morning. So, what did the suspects look like?
3:04 am alert:
Dinkytown Alert: Suspect from shooting described as 18-25 years old, black sweatshirt with white stripe, grey sweatpants, white socks and flip flops
3:31 am update:
Dinkytown Alert: A second suspect is being sought. Male subject was wearing a black puffer jacket, dark pants, white shoes and his hair is back into a ponytail.
Be on the lookout for some clothing and a hairstyle. Scrolling back through the alerts, there was a robbery on Wednesday evening, six (6) auto thefts the previous weekend, and another Dinkytown robbery on the 19th.
Back to the latest incident. A student at the state’s flagship university was shot on the street.
I’m sure it’s nothing.
