Erika Kirk’s Response to Sinclair Reaching Out over Kimmel’s Vile Comments Speaks Volumes – RedState

Erika Kirk, widow of slain Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, has revealed that Sinclair Broadcast Group reached out to her after ABC’s late-night host Jimmy Kimmel made some truly vile comments about the assassination of her husband, and its local affiliates faced a major backlash.

In a clip from an upcoming Fox News interview with Jesse Watters, Erika discussed contact she had with a representative from the media company, asking if she wanted an apology from Kimmel.

It came following the late-night host’s reaction on September 15 to the arrest of Kirk’s suspected killer, who authorities said was strongly influenced by leftist ideology after Kirk was assassinated in front of thousands of kids on the Utah Valley University campus on September 10, as RedState reported.

Kimmel said at the time:

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” he claimed.

Watters said Kimmel lied about her husband’s murder and didn’t really apologize. “What would you want to say to him?”

Erika said the same thing she told Sinclair when they asked: “Do you want Jimmy to give you an apology? Do you want to be on his show? How can we make it right?”

“Through our team, I responded, I said, told them ‘Thank you, we received their note.’ This is not our issue. Not our mess,” Erika said. “If you want to say I’m sorry to someone who’s grieving, go right ahead. If that’s not in your heart, don’t do it. I don’t want it. I don’t need it.”

ABC Preempting’ Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ Indefinitely After Vile Comments About Charlie Kirk’s Murder

The segment aired on Fox and Friends, and after the clip played, the hosts reacted to it, pointing out Erika’s incredible grace.

One host said she could’ve absolutely gone for blood and said that Kimmel didn’t need to be on the network anymore.

Another host pointed out that it wasn’t just one comment but several comments about Kirk’s murder, pointing to another he made on Sept.16.

Kimmel said in his monologue:

“Many in MAGAland are working very hard to capitalize on the murder of Charlie Kirk.”

Sinclair and Nexstar announced on Sept. 17 that “Jimmy Kimmel Live” would be preempted “indefinitely” on its ABC-affiliate stations. ABC said it was following suit with Kimmel’s show being preempted “indefinitely,” RedState reported.

Kimmel’s suspension led to the crazies on the left in Hollywood and elsewhere screaming about censorship and accusing President Donald Trump of trying to silence Kimmel. The late-night host was taken off the air for one week and was back on ABC on September 23, followed by Sinclair and Nexstar stations.

All the way to the top, Sinclair knew Kimmel had gone too far and was willing to do whatever was necessary with Erika to fix things.

Her reaction speaks volumes as to the person now helming Charlie’s unstoppable movement to spread conservative values to the next generation.
