DNC Chair Gets Owned During Interview Over Schumer Shutdown as New Poll Shows How Deep Dems’ Issues Get – RedState

Democrats have to believe that the American people are stupid or can’t count, given the narrative people like DNC Chair Ken Martin are pushing on the Schumer Shutdown.

Martin appeared on Fox News with Shannon Bream to talk about it, and he tried to blame the Republicans, claiming that they “own every part of this government and they own this shutdown.”

Bream pushed back, however.

“They don’t own the Senate when it comes to having 60 votes,” she corrected him. She also quoted Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) for having said in 2013 that you should not shut down the government over healthcare. So why are they pulling this move now when it’s hypocritical and contrary to their prior positions? Martin’s look with the pursed lips was something. He’s probably used to MSNBC not questioning such a false statement. But Bream wasn’t going to let that go.

They may think they can buffalo their own voters, but they can’t argue away the basic math. Most voters get that 60 votes are needed to open the government, and Republicans don’t have that, unless they have more Democrats on board to reach that number.

Democrats won some elections on Nov. 4, but they still can’t get around their basic problems. CNN’s Jake Tapper asked him about the advanced age of people in the Democratic Party, and the division with the younger folks in the party, such as NYC mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani. Martin’s answer was not good.

He said the problem wasn’t about age but about those who were fighting and those who were not. Would he like to identify the Democrats he’s defining as “not fighting”?

I reject this ageism that’s out there. There are plenty of young people who are elected to office who are doing nothing right with the power they have.”

This is their DNC leader; he made a shambles of that question because it is about ideology, and driving the Democrats further left. And their old leaders don’t know what to do about the radicals, so they’re embracing them to appease the leftist base. It’s not ageism to say you shouldn’t run people who have dementia.

But it’s not just the division and the bad policies that are an issue. Check out who the Harris 2024 voters think the leader of the Democratic Party is. Hint: It surely isn’t Martin.

31 percent either “don’t know” or think it’s “nobody.” Yikes. And the only person over 10 percent is Kamala. Yikes, that’s a leadership problem. Barack Obama is below Kamala, oh my. Schumer is only at 7.7. The radical leftists are all below Joe Biden and Martin, who are in the low single digits. And when even Donald Trump is on that list.

That doesn’t look like the left is gaining in popularity, nor does it look like they think Kamala has the ability either, at 16 percent.

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
