Inside Sarah Ferguson’s £3.6m mansion as ‘she eyes Portugal move’ | Royal | News

Sarah Ferguson could be set to live in a £3.6million mansion in Portugal, it has been exclusively revealed tonight. The former duchess, 66, has been keeping a low profile over recent weeks after it emerged she had emailed the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in 2011 after he had been released from prison for child sex offences.

In the email, Sarah had apologised to her “supreme friend” for criticising him in a media interview. While it has since been said by her spokesperson that the email was sent by Sarah out of fears at the time that she was to be sued by Epstein for defamation, the scandal has still resulted in her biggest downfall yet.

This, alongside her ex husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s scandals, has led to Sarah and Andrew losing not only their royal titles, but the Royal Lodge home they co-habited too.

While Andrew, 65, is set to move to a property on King Charles’ private Sandringham estate, Sarah is believed to be sorting her own housing arrangements, with sources now revealing that this could be in Portugal.

It was exclusively revealed by Mike Parker in Los Angeles to Express.co.uk on Thursday that Sarah could be set to live in a £3.6million luxury oceanfront villa in Portugal owned by her youngest daughter Princess Eugenie and Eugenie’s businessman husband Jack Brooksbank.

Eugenie and her husband bought their luxury property at the Costa Terra Golf and Ocean Club resort in Melides, where he works, in May 2022, and have since divided their time between the Portugal pad and their Ivy Cottage home on the Kensington Palace grounds.

The Portuguese resort, which is 82 miles south of Lisbon, is believed to be perfect for Sarah, having been described online as an “intimate, low density community”, which would allow her to keep a low profile away from the UK.

The resort has a beach club and dining spots, as well as a range of activities such as daily yoga, watersports, hiking and golf. There is also an equestrian centre, meaning that Sarah can still be close-by to horses like she would have been used to in Windsor.

Sarah will also be in her comfort zone if she makes the move as she will be among other famous faces, with Madonna and Oscar winner Alicia Vikander believed to have properties in the area.

A US based source who is a regular visitor to the Costa Terra resort told Mike Parker: “It’s a perfect place for Fergie to hide out while the Epstein affair continues to rumble on in Congress. She will be among family and friends and well away from the hostile atmosphere she’s facing in England.”

A wealthy neighbour who lives on the estate also said: “The word here is that Fergie will be arriving sometime in January. How long she’ll stay is anyone’s guess but if it’s a long-term move, I can guarantee she’ll fit well into the social scene. Scores of celebrities and Hollywood stars have been snapping up properties in the area.”
