In today’s Daily Reflection we explore the conversation between Peter and Jesus about the limits of forgiveness.
Peter, thinking he was being generous, asked if forgiving someone seven times was enough but Jesus replied that forgiveness should be offered “77 times,” symbolising no limits.
To illustrate this, Jesus told a story of a man forgiven an unimaginable debt by his master.
Yet when that same man was owed a tiny amount, he refused to show the mercy he had received and responded with violence instead.
The message is clear: because God has forgiven us beyond measure, we too are called to forgive others without limit, showing the same mercy we’ve been shown.
