A TikTok fitness influencer has revealed the simple strategies that helped her shed nearly two stone without the hassle of tracking every calorie.
Izzy Utterson, who describes herself as a “glow up coach”, shared her weight loss secrets with her social media followers after successfully dropping 25 pounds through seven simple methods.
“There are seven things I did to lose 25lb without calorie counting,” she explained in her video.
Her approach focuses on understanding how the body works naturally rather than following restrictive diets. From supporting the lymphatic system to getting better sleep, her tips offer a refreshing alternative to traditional weight loss methods that often leave people feeling deprived and stressed.
Lymphatic system
Her first tip involves learning how the lymphatic system works, as she discovered much of her excess weight was actually puffiness and water retention rather than fat.
“So much of the weight I was carrying was puffiness, water retention, toxins that had not flushed out,” she said.

To support her lymphatic system, she drinks dandelion tea and ensures she gets two to three litres of water daily, particularly during warmer months.
Calorie needs
Her second strategy involves being mindful of caloric needs without obsessive tracking, focusing instead on understanding portion sizes and choosing nutrient-dense foods.
Intuitive eating
The third tip is intuitive eating – eating when hungry and stopping when satisfied, to help distinguish between genuine hunger and emotional eating patterns.
Walking
Izzy’s fourth recommendation is to increase daily walking, aiming for seven to 10,000 steps each day.
She found this particularly effective, noting that “the weight literally fell off of me” when she started walking more.
She suggests simple changes like getting off the bus one stop early and taking short walks after meals to aid digestion.
Balanced diet
Rather than eliminating entire food groups, her fifth tip encourages balance.
This involves opting for minimally processed carbohydrates, healthy fats, lean proteins, plenty of vegetables and fibre, while still enjoying occasional treats.
Stress management
The sixth strategy in Izzy’s arsenal addresses stress management, as chronic stress can trigger hormonal changes that promote fat storage, particularly around the midsection.
Sleep
Izzy’s final piece of advice centres on the importance of quality sleep, recommending seven to nine hours nightly.
“Poor sleep increases ghrelin, which is your hunger hormone, and decreases your leptin, which is your fullness hormone,” she explained.
