Trump attends to the Omar matter

On Wednesday evening President Trump gave a statement on the shooting of the National Guardsmen near the White House. In his statement he took up the Minnesota fraud cases. At about 2:00 President Trump asserted that “hundreds of thousands” of Somalis are “ripping off our country and ripping apart that once great state [of Minnesota]. Billions of dollars are lost and gangs of Somalians come from a country that doesn’t even have a government, no laws, no military, nothing — as their representatives in our country preach to us about our Constitution and how our country is no good.”

“Hundreds of thousands” is an exaggeration. We have some 100,000 Somali citizens and residents in Minnesota. In the United States we have “hundreds of thousands” of Somalis in total. The number committing fraud in Minnesota must number in the hundreds rather than the thousands. However, we certainly have a serious problem and Trump did everything but call out Ilhan Omar by name.

President Trump has adopted the expression “Thank you for your attention to this matter.” Attending to the matter of the massive public-programs frauds committed by Minnesota Somalis, Trump inevitably turned to Minnesota Fifth District Rep. Ilhan Omar. Omar can serve as Exhibit A in the matter of Somali fraud. It may be her highest and best use.

Trump returned to Omar late last night in the X post below. He garbled the facts, as he did in his comments on Wednesday evening, but he nailed the essence:

[T]he worst “Congressman/woman” in our Country, Ilhan Omar, always wrapped in her swaddling hijab, and who probably came into the U.S.A. illegally in that you are not allowed to marry your brother, does nothing but hatefully complain about our Country, its Constitution, and how “badly” she is treated, when her place of origin is a decadent, backward, and crime ridden nation, which is essentially not even a country for lack of Government, Military, Police, schools, etc.

I have been on Omar’s case since August 2016. I summarized my initiation in the City Journal column “The curious case of Ilhan Omar.” I believe that Omar entered the United States illegally as a fradulent member of the Omar family. Getting out of Kenya, the family was split. A brother and sister emigrated to England. The brother was brought to Minneapolis to extract him from a homosexual life in London.

Omar married her brother in 2009, probably for purposes of immigration fraud. A Christian pastor signed the marriage license. Omar continued living with her “real” husband and father of her children all the while. She also filed joint tax returns with her “real” husband (even though she had never legally married him) while she was legally married to her brother. The hijab that Trump mocks appears to be a prop. She is a one-woman crime wave. Rob Long turned the saga into the hilarious 2019 National Review column “That’s My Husbro: Ilhan Omar’s Family Drama.”

Omar has now obtained a divorce from her brother, married and divorced her “real” husband, and married the man who was her non-Muslim campaign fundraiser. Omar had taken up with him while she was still married to her real husband (she legally married him in 2019 and divorced him in 2019). Omar had taken up with him while she was still married to her real husband (she legally married him in January 2018 and divorced him in November 2019).

David Steinberg tied up loose threads in the curious case in a 2019 Power Line post. At the moment that six-year-old post is the most read on Power Line. David has linked to it on X. It has become timely again.

Illustrating Trump’s point about Omar’s view of the United States, Omar’s X post below makes her ingratitude toward our country the dog that doesn’t bark.
