A Reason For Optimism | Power Line

I have been feeling pessimistic about our country’s future lately. Consider this, for example: “51% of Likely U.S. Voters ages 18 to 39 would like to see a democratic socialist candidate win the 2028 presidential election.” Sometimes I think the most optimistic scenario would be to part company with the liberals. Is there any common set of goals or values, such that it makes sense for us to share a country? It doesn’t seem so. As someone once said, you go your way and I’ll go mine.

But every now and then there is a glimmer of hope. While our country today is balanced on a razor’s edge, we are producing a lot more future conservatives than liberals:

Conservatives are now getting married and having children at substantially higher rates than liberals, and the gap is growing. Today, a liberal woman is about 27% less likely to be married than a conservative woman.

And, more important for the present purpose, much less likely to be having children. These differences are enormous:

As you would expect, this difference shows up in a red state vs. blue state comparison:

So maybe if we can just hang on for another decade or so, things will swing our way.

I think the conventional wisdom, that Democrats want massive Third World immigration because they know the demographic trend is running against them, is correct. This is one more reason, if not the most important one, to cut off the undesirable immigrant spigot.
