Palace gives behind-the-scenes look at Princess Kate’s carol concert | Royal | News

Kensington Palace has given a sneak peak of the Princess of Wales’s Christmas carol concert, which will be held at Wesminster Abbey tonight. In a series of pictures to their social media account, a beautiful Christmas tree with poinsettia flowers, large red baubles and faux candles could be seen.

The Palace said: “Wonderful to see Westminster Abbey dressed and ready ahead of this evening’s Carol Service, complete with beautiful wreaths from The RHS. To all those attending this evening, we look forward to welcoming you!”

Other images were of the beautiful stained glass windows and the Abbey’s pulpit.

Catherine’s carol service is now in its fifth year and has become one of the most important nights of the year for the future Queen.

She spends months planning the event with her team, aiming to bring people together for a heartwarming festive celebration at the start of the Christmas period.

The Together At Christmas service, a mix of traditional carols, music and readings, recognises individuals from across the UK who may have dedicated or volunteered their time to be present with others, led initiatives that bring people in their community together, or offered a helping hand to those around them.

The event, which will air on ITV1 on Christmas Eve, is set to be a spectacular, candle-lit, festive event with special performances from Katie Melua, Fisherman’s Friends and Griff.

Readings were given by Hollywood stars Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor, comic Babatunde Aleshe and rising actor Joe Locke, with the speakers accompanied by pianist Paul Gladstone Reid.
