Fears and rumours of Donald Trump’s alleged declining health are continuing to swirl after the latest “evidence” appears to show the president becoming increasingly forgetful and agitated, with one political commentator claiming he “has no idea what’s going on”. The 79-year-old’s health has been front and centre in recent months, and that spotlight is only beginning to shine brighter as the president appeared to fall asleep in a meeting once again this week.
In another worrying turn, Trump appeared to be forgetting what he had told reporters, only days after telling them certain decisions. Posting online, pro-Democrat commentator Harry Sisson showed two clips of Donald Trump, one in the White House on December 3, saying he would release footage of a military strike in Venezuela and another on December 8 when asked when this footage would be released.
However, in just five days, Trump had forgotten his earlier statement, instead becoming agitated at the reporter, calling her follow-up question “fake news” before calling her an “obnoxious” and “terrible reporter”.
He then goes on to show footage of Trump appearing to fall asleep in one of his round table meetings where a new agriculture policy was being announced – an increasingly common scene and something the White House is allegedly in a state of panic over.
Responding to the Clips, Mr Sisson said: “We can’t continue like this, we cannot have a commander-in-chief who is falling asleep in the middle of the day. It took place at 3pm, and Donald Trump could not stay awake for the entirety of it.”
Trump biographer Michael Wolff claims the videos are causing a stir for White House staff, too. He said: “I never remember Trump falling asleep, it used to be that he got bored and then would walk out. You can’t wake him up because the cameras are rolling. Everyone is in a low-level panic all the time about Trump falling asleep.
“Then he gets angry. He essentially blames the people around him for the fact that he fell asleep. Nobody knows what to do.”
Despite the claims, Trump insists he is healthy, instead defiantly claiming that he secured “perfect” marks in a recent “long, thorough, and very boring medical examination” at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre.
In a lengthy post on his Truth Social platform, the 79-year-old also bragged about “acing” three cognitive examinations, a feat he says few people could achieve.
He posted: “I ACED all three of them in front of large numbers of doctors and experts, most of whom I do not know.”
He wrote that claims of his declining health or energy are “seditious” and “treasonous” behaviour for consistently publishing what he claims are “FAKE reports”.
