TalkTV halted their show for a bombshell Meghan Markle announcement. Host Kevin O’Sullivan addressed the Duchess of Sussex’s “week from hell”. It began with a frantic medical emergency in the Philippines. In the space of just eight days, Meghan, 44, has been pulled back into the soap opera of her estrangement from her father. Thomas Markle, 81, underwent an emergency leg amputation last week in the Phillippines. Her dad said he wishes to meet his grandchildren, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, as well as Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry.
Kevin launched an explosive rant at the Duchess as he claimed her “worst nightmare has comes true”. The TalkTV presenter claimed Meghan’s perfectly curated image now hangs in the balance.
“For Meghan [Markle] this is the apocalypse,” he commented. “Her worst nightmare has come true. Her response to her father’s life or death drama has been nothing short of a disaster.”
He continued: “For a woman obsessively concerned with publicity, who puts so much effort into her carefully choreographed image these are devastating times.”
Kevin claimed that her “curated” image with an “extraordinary capacity for love and friendship lies in ruins”.
While sources close to the Sussexes claimed Meghan had tried to reach out, reports from Thomas’s bedside painted a different picture. According to the PA news agency, the Duchess does not have his phone number and believes he is not in possession of his phone while in hospital.
Her team confirmed she had in fact emailed her dad, but the paper reported that he “never uses email”.
“Now, we’re told the Duchess has located her 81 year old parent and has drumroll dispatched a letter to him,” Kevin remarked.
It has since been claimed Meghan has reportedly deleted her dad’s, phone number and has not made any plans to visit him.
He claimed it was a “dreadful” move and urged Meghan to either call him or get on a plane to see her ailing father, as he suggested this “marked the end” of any relationship with her dad.
Kevin suggested these events has led to a PR nightmare for the Duchess following the release of her Netflix Christmas special, With Love, Meghan.
Meghan has been estranged from her father for years after a series of falling outs, including Thomas staging photos appearing to show him preparing for the wedding.
The fallout saw him pull out of his daughter’s wedding just days before the ceremony in Windsor, citing health problems.
