Ben Shapiro spoke at the Heritage Foundation yesterday. Heritage president Kevin Roberts has been in the news for his proud association with Tucker Carlson. Three trustees of Heritage have resigned rather than abide Roberts’s disgrace of the institution he continues to lead, as have several prominent Heritage scholars.
In his prepared remarks Shapiro made the case why Carlson should be read out of the conservative movement. He judges Carlson against the avowed mission of Heritage to make his case. Shapiro seeks to heighten the contradictions in which Heritage finds itself thanks to Roberts. Sharpiro’s theme is “boundaries.” I thought some readers might find his remarks of interest.
I have cued the video of the event to begin with Roberts’s introduction of Shapiro. Shapiro’s speech begins at about 9:50 and runs about 23 minutes. It is followed by Roberts’s discussion with Shapiro and questions from the audience.
