Economist Peter St Onge adds up the numbers and makes an important point:
The BLS says we lost 41,000 jobs in 2 months.
But control for Federal layoffs and we gained 121,000.
Control for deportations and we gained 300,000.

During the Biden administration, especially the last half of that administration, job growth went largely to immigrants, legal and illegal. We are seeing a reorientation of the economy in the direction of the private sector and native Americans. That will require some traditional statistics to be viewed more closely to understand their significance.
