Pamela Brown, Washington, D.C.’s disgraced – and now “former” – police chief, had her “walk out” ceremony Friday, and, boy, was it a doozy. Leaving on a high note was apparently not on the agenda.
A walk out ceremony marks a law enforcement officer’s last day on the job, and the departing officer is traditionally given certain honors, a final radio call, or a symbolic final walk in tribute to their years of service. Brown opted not to go out with class and, instead, used the opportunity to offer a few last words to lob a decidedly unhinged, uncouth “F you” at her “haters.” Worst of all, she used the Bible to justify her rant.

DC Police Chief Cooked Crime Books: New Oversight Bombshell Drops
As RedState previously reported, Brown submitted her resignation to DC Mayor Muriel Bowser earlier this month after the Trump White House, which has taken on a large role this year in patrolling the streets of the Nation’s Capital and reducing crime there, questioned the crime data coming out of Brown’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). From Ward Clark:
We have been covering the sudden resignation of the District of Columbia’s police chief, Pamela Smith. Now, thanks to an investigation by the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, we have a much clearer picture as to the reasons behind Chief Smith’s resignation; namely, the testimony from several of her subordinates that she pressured them to alter records to make the crime rates in the District look much less dire than they actually were. It was these crime rates that prompted President Trump to deploy the National Guard to the capital city to restore order.
At the time of her resignation, Brown struck a gracious tone, saying, “I am deeply humbled, grateful, and deeply appreciative of my time with the District of Columbia. Serving as Chief of Police has been the greatest honor of my career, and I want to extend my sincere thanks to Mayor Muriel Bowser for appointing me to this position and to the DC Council for their steadfast support throughout my tenure.”
Well, all those warm thoughts and positive vibes went right out the window Friday when Brown’s final remarks devolved into some bitter score settling. She had one thing on her mind: her haters. After congratulating herself on doing a great job – she “felt” crime had “shifted” under her watch – Brown invoked the Bible and signed off with an angry “F you.”
“I’m about to be Rev. Pamela A. Smith for just a few moments,” Smith said. “Never would I, never will I compromise my integrity for a few crime numbers.”
She called out to critics, saying, “How dare you attack my integrity. Attack my character. You don’t know who I belong to.”
Blending the pulpit with police politics, Smith evoked the sayings of Jesus on the cross while calling out critics.
“So, I’m going to The Bible when I say this. To my haters, ‘F’ you,” Smith said. “No, it’s not a drop the mic moment. … I forgive you.”

The local media was downright fawning in its coverage of Brown’s parting shot. It was apparently a “fiery rebuke,” “strong parting words,” and “an emotional send off.”
What it was, in fact, was an entirely inappropriate, unprofessional spectacle that should disqualify Pamela Brown from ever holding a position of power ever again. And that means a deep-blue city is sure to snap her up at some point in the future.
