I wrote this more than a month ago, on the occasion of Senate passage of the bill to “release” the “Epstein files,”
The entire exercise was engineered to disappoint and fail.
But it will create a cottage industry involving federal lawsuits for the next half-century in the fruitless search for the real Epstein files.
The entire subject doesn’t even hold a prurient interest for me. So as far as I can tell, since the “release” last Friday, I haven’t heard of any bombshells.
Indeed, the exercise is meant to generate headlines and lawsuits, and headlines about lawsuits, but not answers to any lingering questions.
- ABC News: Epstein’s alleged victims accuse DOJ of legal violations over state of files released
- The Hill: Schumer calls for Senate to sue administration over Epstein files
- U.K. Guardian: Yet again, released Epstein files raise more questions than answers
I must say, though, that I am getting a good laugh at the expense of those who fell for this hoax, again.
[Note: Scott used that same headline six months ago. It’s an evergreen.]
