Aldi is set to introduce a huge change in one part of the supermarket from next week. The popular budget supermarket is well known for its middle aisle, which serves interesting home finds, non‑food bargains, tools, toys, fitness gear, and seasonal items.
Typically, Aldi introduces these items under Specialbuys category every Thursday and Saturday on its iconic middle aisle, giving customers more options to choose from. But this week, shoppers will be surprised to find a change in the aisle. There will be no new Specialbuys on Thursday, as Aldi stores will be shut for Christmas Day.
The schedule is likely to change further in the coming few weeks due to Bank Holiday disruption. An Aldi spokesperson said: “The next Specialbuy release is scheduled for Sunday, December 28, so we’ll see new stock landing after the Christmas period.”
As New Year’s Day also falls on a Thursday this year, next week will also have an altered schedule.
The spokesperson added: “For the following week, Specialbuys will be released on Friday, January 2, and Sunday, January 4.”
Because the holiday disruptions are only temporary, Aldi expects its middle aisle Specialbuys to return to its normal schedule from Sunday, January 4, and shoppers can keep track of upcoming releases by checking the retailer’s website.
In the meantime, the Specialbuys arriving on Sunday, December 28, are themed around helping customers begin 2026 feeling refreshed, organised and ready for a tidy start to the new year.
As a result, the middle aisle will be stocked with practical home‑focused items, such as a three‑tier rattan drawer unit priced at £9.99 and Dettol antibacterial surface wipes for £2.69, along with other products designed to support cleaning, decluttering and home organisation.
