No National Lottery player became a multi-millionaire tonight, as nobody won the £15million jackpot. The Christmas Eve draw didn’t see anybody matching the six winning numbers, the National Lottery said.
This, however, was good news for thousands of players, who are seeing a boosted cash prize. This is because tonight was a Lotto Must Be Won draw. This means that, with no one winning the jackpot, a ‘rolldown’ had to occur.
As a result, the major £15m jackpot is being divided and shared for players matching two or more main numbers.
The three players who got a ‘match 5 + bonus’ are to receive £1,063,399 rather than the planned £1million.
Moreover, the 119 people who matched five drawn numbers will get a major boost, set to receive £4,413 each rather than £1,750.
The 7,807 ‘match 4’ winners are to receive a rolldown prize of £196 rather than £140.
The thousands of winners matching three numbers tonight will get £59 rather than £30 each, and the ‘match 2’ winners will get £5 on top of the expected free lotto lucky dip.
Tonight’s National Lottery Lotto winning numbers were: 12, 15, 16, 35, 38, 48, with 49 as the bonus ball.
The Thunderball winning numbers were: 06, 10, 11, 29, 33, with the Thunderball being 9.
No player scooped the top prize of £500,000 by matching all five numbers plus the Thunderball, but two players matched five numbers to win £5,000 each.
After tonight’s draw, the Saturday’s Lotto jackpot will be an estimated £3.8million.
