Four people have been detained following reports of a Christmas Day brawl, with reports of a shooting and stabbing incident in the Peak District.
Derbyshire Police were summoned to Bradwell Lea in Gamesley, close to Glossop, at 4.20pm on Thursday, December 25 after receiving reports of a man being assaulted, reports Manchester Evening News.
The victim, a male in his late teens, was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries and remains in a serious condition this evening.
A second male, also in his late teens, presented himself at Glossop police station shortly afterwards with stab wounds to his abdomen. He was subsequently transported to hospital where his condition is described as stable.
CCTV footage from the scene appears to show a firearm being discharged, police have confirmed. However, neither of the hospitalised men have sustained gunshot wounds and authorities do not believe anyone has been injured by a firearm.
Three men and one woman have been arrested in connection with the incident after armed officers attended a property on Hollins Close in Gamesley. At present, it is understood that all those involved in the incident have been apprehended.
Whilst the investigation remains in its early stages, it is believed the victims and suspects are known to one another and there is no wider threat to the public from those involved. A Derbyshire Police spokesperson added: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident – in particular anyone with CCTV, mobile phone, or dashcam footage.”
