Boxing Day travel chaos erupted as police officers swarmed an international airport. On December 26, as many were scheduled to travel, San Francisco International Airport (SFO) was forced to close its terminal 1 departures level lobby.
The SFO wrote on X: “Terminal 1 Departures Level lobby is closed due to police activity. Please avoid the departures level of the domestic terminals. Departing passengers with no bags to check, drop off at International Terminal and use the security checkpoints there to get to your gates.” US news outlet Kron4 reports police had launched a “suspicious package investigation”.
