Meghan Markle’s U-turn about her children’s titles due to key talk | Royal | News

Meghan Markle allegedly made a major U-turn regarding her children’s titles after having a conversation with two key members of the Royal Family, it has been claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to America for a new life.

Prince Harry and Meghan now reside in a lavish mansion in Montecito, California, along with their two children, Prince Archie, six and Princess Lilibet, four. However, despite wanting a fresh start in the US, the Sussex couple were not ready to sever all ties with the Palace.

Harry and Meghan still retain their royal titles, but, after a mutual agreement with the Firm, they are not using them for commercial gain.

The couple reportedly made the decision for Archie and Lilibet to retain their HRH titles, allowing them to choose their own path in the future, but only after consulting with Harry’s cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Despite the reports, a royal commentator has argued that there are different sons behind the Duchess’s decision.

According to OK! Magazine, royal commentator Neil Sean said: “Harry and Meghan are very, very keen to cling onto those royal titles.

“After much deliberation, Meghan decided that the titles would be a good thing, not just for her but for both her children too.”

He added: “Meghan became very friendly with senior members of the monarchy, predominantly Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.

“After this, Meghan realised how useful a title can be, particularly when you want to move in the correct circles. That is the reason why they want to clutch hold of titles.”

The Duke of Sussex visited Britain solo again back in September, when he met with King Charles for the first time in 19 months.

It is unclear whether the Duchess will return to the UK anytime soon. She last visited with her husband in 2022, for the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
