Prince Harry’s 7-word plea to King Charles after brutal snub | Royal | News

Prince Harry allegedly issued his father, the King, with a seven-word plea after he was evicted from Frogmore Cottage, an author has claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were gifted Frogmore Cottage by the late Queen Elizabeth following their wedding in 2018.

Frogmore was said to be Elizabeth’s favourite home within the Windsor estate – it boasted five bedrooms and was given a £2.4m makeover. But their tenancy in Windsor was short-lived as the couple decided to quit the Firm and move to the US in 2020.

Following Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir release in January 2023, the Sussexes were evicted from Windsor and moved out their last remaining belongings sometime in the spring of 2023.

Author Omid Scobie claimed in his book Endgame that the King’s decision upset his younger son as he had hoped to use Frogmore as his base in the UK whenever he visited the country.

He alleged that Harry called his father to let him know that he wouldn’t be able to see his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet as much due to his decision.

According to the author, Harry told Charles: “Don’t you want to see your grandchildren?”

The King is said to have replied with a “half-hearted declaration that they would always have ‘somewhere’ to stay.”

Mr Scobie went on to claim that the Princess Royal played a key part in the King’s decision, saying she was “at the forefront of the supporters of the firm approach” taken by the Palace.

Harry and Meghan, as well as their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have not travelled back to the duke’s home country as a family since 2022, when they attended the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
