Sinners breakout star Miles Caton, Love Island legend Maura Higgins, and several other big names were among the early arrivals on this year’s Golden Globes red carpet.
Hollywood’s most glamorous awards season kicks off tonight, where Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another dominates the field with nine nominations.

The film boasts acting nods for Leonardo DiCaprio, Chase Infiniti, Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn and Teyana Taylor.
Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value follows closely behind with eight nominations, whilst Ryan Coogler’s Sinners secured seven nods.

The ceremony arrives as Oscar season intensifies, with voting for Academy Award nominations beginning this week ahead of the March 15 ceremony.
On the red carpet, Ms Higgins oozed elegance in a figure-hugging black dress, while Mr Caton looked dapper in a pinstriped suit.

When it comes to the awards, while One Battle After Another may look likely to sweep up, other major contenders hoping for momentum include Frankenstein and Wicked: For Good.

On the television side, White Lotus leads all small-screen contenders with six nominations.
Netflix’s Adolescence secured five nods, having already sparked national debate around online safety following its release.

The British drama earned recognition for Stephen Graham and Ashley Walters in the best male actor category for limited series, whilst Owen Cooper received a supporting actor nomination.
Erin Doherty also picked up a best supporting female TV actor nod for her performance in the series.

Only Murders in the Building and Severance each garnered four nominations apiece, rounding out the strongest television contenders at this year’s ceremony.
Comedian Nikki Glaser returns to host the ceremony for a second consecutive year, having earned praise for her debut stint at last year’s event.

Ms Glaser has hinted that she has a particular celebrity in her sights as the target of her jokes during the broadcast.
The host has also confirmed she will deliver a short tribute to Rob Reiner, the acclaimed filmmaker and actor who was recently murdered at the age of 78.

The Golden Globes have undergone significant changes in recent years, with the organisation diversifying its voting membership following several scandals, resulting in what observers describe as a more respectable awards show.
