The Secret Service swiftly rerouted President Trump’s motorcade on Sunday evening after discovering a suspicious object during routine advance sweeps at Palm Beach International Airport.
The precautionary measure was confirmed by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Details on the object remain under investigation. There were no disruptions to Trump’s travel schedule, officials said.
“During advance sweeps of PBI Airport, a suspicious object was discovered by USSS,” Leavitt said, according to the New York Post. “A further investigation was warranted, and the presidential motorcade route was adjusted accordingly.”
The incident comes just three months after a suspicious “hunting stand” was found with a direct line of sight to where the President exits Air Force One at the airport.

Further details were posted to X by Katelyn Caralle, Senior US Political Reporter for the Daily Mail, who points out that, beyond the motorcade reroute, additional precautions were taken for Air Force One.
Caralle revealed that the president’s plane was kept dark and moved to the opposite side of the airport while he “quickly boarded before the press could get out of the vehicles.”
The reporter noted that security concerns of this nature need to be taken quite seriously, considering ever-evolving world events.
“Last weekend, Trump approved an operation to capture Nicolas Maduro, he suggested defying NATO with military force in Greenland, and now he’s threatening escalated U.S. intervention in Iran,” she said. “This potential threat and heightened security precautions should not be taken lightly.”
Yeah, that and the other constant threats he’s faced in recent years. He survived multiple assassination attempts long before discussing Greenland and acting on Maduro.
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the Associated Press that the secondary motorcade route was taken just as a precaution and that it “is standard protocol.”

This past fall, the Secret Service spotted a hunting stand set up in the vicinity.
“Prior to the President’s return to West Palm Beach, USSS discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone,” FBI Director Kash Patel told Fox News Digital at the time.
“No individuals were located at the scene. The FBI has since taken the investigatory lead, flying in resources to collect all evidence from the scene, and deploying our cell phone analytics capabilities.”
A source later told the outlet that the stand had been there for “months” before it was discovered.
That scare echoed the case of Ryan Routh, who just weeks earlier was found guilty of attempting to assassinate President Trump on his Palm Beach golf course. Routh had brought a rifle near Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, and held a shooting position for hours, awaiting the then-presidential candidate.
Routh’s sentencing is scheduled for February 2026.
