The Times Lies Some More

Sometimes I get tired of beating up on the New York Times. The Times is no longer a serious news organization, and nearly everyone knows it. But occasionally I can’t resist.

Thus, we have this correction on the Times’ account of the shooting of far-left activist Renee Good after she had spent several minutes illegally blocking ICE vehicles and harassing ICE agents:

CORRECTION: A previous version of this article said that Renee Nicole Good was killed as federal agents were ordering her to move her vehicle. In fact, she was killed while agents were ordering her to get out of her vehicle.

You see the point. If ICE agents had told her to move her vehicle, one could reasonably wonder why Agent Jonathan Ross was standing right in front of her car when she suddenly accelerated. Conversely, if agents told her to get out of her vehicle, likely as a prelude to arresting her, it was entirely appropriate for Ross to be standing where he was. And Good’s sudden acceleration, directly toward Ross in violation of instructions from law enforcement, was either homicidal or grossly negligent. In either case, Ross’s shooting her was entirely justified under basic legal principles.

That is the New York Times. Zero commitment to truth, total commitment to the Democratic Party’s talking points of the moment.
