Royal fans issue major complaint about Meghan Markle’s £13 bookmark | Royal | News

The limited-edition product was made in collaboration with a New Forest-based workshop and features a gold inscription of “Fell Asleep Here” in Meghan’s handwriting. However, fans were not impressed that the Duchess did not come up with her own message for the bookmark and instead used the other company’s.

One user wrote on X: “Meghan couldn’t even come up with a quote herself; she had to borrow from theirs and just write it in her fancy cursive. If that’s not a microcosm of Meghan’s entire post-Megxit career, I don’t know what is.”

Another account blasted: “Utterly unsurprising that she plagiarised a flipping bookmark.”

A third person commented: “WOW! Secondhand embarrassment”

A final one said: “Why does she think her scrawl is what people want? I just don’t get it. Her handwriting is not pretty or elegant. & what does a bookmark have to do with As ever?”

But others defended the Duchess and said the message was the same as she had partnered with the company.

One user wrote: “Well, it was a collab so if you’re so butthurt, call them and find out how many were created. But, limited edition means limited. It was designed to create a buzz for the small business in the UK.”

A second one added: “She PARTNERED them. Idiots.”

A third one said, “You guys are seething with jealousy; meanwhile, Meghan is focused.”

The bookmark, which sold out in minutes after it launched on Tuesday, is said to be made using “sustainably sourced leather” and is described as “a keepsake designed for those who linger, pause and return”.

The product description states: “Crafted from supple black leather and finished with gold lettering written in Meghan’s handwriting, it rests neatly between pages to mark exactly where you left off.

“This limited-edition piece was made to last – a small, thoughtful detail meant to stay with you for years.”

The bookmark was made in collaboration with Sbri, which is described as “a small UK-based female-owned workshop specialising in handcrafted, made-to-order keepsakes” on a newsletter by As Ever.

Also released on Tuesday was “A Moment To Unwind Set”, costing 64 dollars (£47.50) and made up of the bookmark, sage honey with honeycomb and herbal peppermint tea.

The set is described on the company’s website as a “thoughtfully curated trio designed for quiet moments at home”. The website said the product is “Meghan’s take on starting the new year out right” under a section titled “why you’ll love it”.
