In today’s GB News Daily Reflection, we examine how the Bible tells us about Jesus the man, but it tells us very little about Jesus the boy.
“It’s fascinating, then, for Christians to get a short glimpse in chapter two of Luke’s Gospel of the 12-year-old Jesus. And as we might have guessed, he was very different.
“On a family trip to Jerusalem, his parents lost him, and when they eventually found him in the temple, he said, didn’t you know I had to be in my father’s house?
“Even at that age, he knew who he was. But despite that knowledge of his status and authority, it says he went home with Mary and Joseph and was obedient to them. He knew who he was and yet he chose to submit.”
