Popular fast food chain collapses into administration | UK | News

A popular gourmet burger chain with locations across England has entered administration, but there could still be hope for meat patty fans as the owner says business continues. The Flavour Trailer, described as “the best burger van in Northampton, offering unbeatable burger takeaway near you” released a statement to the local press in Northamptonshire in the past 24 hours.

On the company social media and website the award-winning firm describes itself as an independent burger company “where flavour meets obsession” and it offers a host of locations across Northamptonshire, as well as options for private event and wedding hire. The firms uses impressively sized burger trucks to bring the taste sensation to customers, but the owner Mario Shephard told the Northampton Chronicle and Echo a restaurant was now open.

In a statement to the paper “The Flavour Trailer Ltd has entered administration”, but in a sign all may not be lost for fans of the firm’s cuisine, Mr Shephard added: “We want to make it absolutely clear that this is not the end of The Flavour Trailer.”

Express.co.uk have contacted the firm for comment.

The statement continued: “The restaurant in Brixworth is now open, and one of our trucks is currently visiting our core locations. These assets – including The Flavour Trailer brand – are being acquired by a new company, Black Fox Hospitality Ltd [with Mario listed as a director] , which will continue operating the business while the formal transfer is completed.”

Mr Shephard added that the past year had been “incredibly challenging for independent hospitality businesses across the UK” and he said rising costs, PAYE increases and higher ingredient costs all worked against a backdrop of a “drop in consumer confidence”, adding that many firms had been pushed to “breaking point”.

Mentioning the entrepreneurial spirit which started his business Mr Shephard recalled how he and his now wife had started the company from “a tent” in 2018 to becoming a company that ran “a restaurant, running six burger trucks across the Midlands, seven days a week”.

Mr Shephard added this was now a “scale-down” and he thanked the “amazing Flavour Fans who have supported us along the way” and that “we’re still here” and “still cooking”.

He continued: “If there is a silver lining, it’s that I get to return to what started this whole journey: creating the best burger. This new chapter genuinely feels like a rebirth, tighter, more focused and more personal, and the food coming out of the restaurant and truck right now is the best we’ve ever made.”

On the Google rating system the firm has an impressive 4.3 out 5 stars, with one recent commenter saying “the burgers are out of this world”, while another added: “I had the spicy veggie burger and it was the best I have had”.
