Prince William’s latest move in hiring a crisis PR expert has raised eyebrows in some quarters. The Prince of Wales recently hired Liza Ravenscroft, who was once described as “bulletproof sunshine” by a previous boss.
She has been recruited from communications company Edelman, where she runs the UK Crisis and Issues team. A former BBC royal correspondent described how she’ll be needed because various issues often face the monarchy, requiring effective management. Jennie Bond explained: “..Whatever the reason, it seems like a shrewd move.
“Crises crop up with relentless regularity in the royal family, and to have someone skilled at heading them off, or at least being prepared and fully briefed to deal with the situation, is basic good PR.”
Prince Harry also released his bombshell memoir, Spare, in January 2023 tales which alleged a physical altercation between Harry and Prince William.
Speaking of the new hire, Jennie added: “This could be one of the changes William intends to pursue: ensuring his team is ahead of the game, fully proactive and not allowing ‘events, dear boy’ to destabilise the monarchy.”
As reported in the Mirror, Jenni added: “There are still some difficult and testing situations on the horizon: what next for Andrew, and will Harry and Meghan be knocking on William’s door? The future King has his work cut out – and it’s now up to Liza Ravenscroft to smooth the path ahead.”
William’s uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, had all his royal titles, including his HRH style, the title of Prince, and his Order of the Garter and Royal Victorian Order, formally stripped by King Charles in late 2025 due to his association with late convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.
He is also accused of having sexually assaulted the late Virginia Giuffre, a claim he strongly continues to deny.
