RICHMOND, Virginia (LifeSiteNews) — Now that Democrats have complete control over the Virginia legislature and governor’s mansion, they have introduced a tsunami of new bills that, if passed into law, will remake the Commonwealth in the image of a socialist state in decline.
Statements from engaged observers at first sound to be outrageously exaggerated, but in fact it’s Virginia Democrats’ horrific slate of anti-life, anti-American, pro-crime, and pro-unfettered illegal immigration amendments that are outrageous.
“Democrats won Virginia and are going full Marxist,” noted online commentator Mike Cernovich. “Taxes at California levels. Banning white men from government contracts. Surveillance tech cameras to issue tickets. Internet voting. Gun bans.”
“There is no such thing as a moderate Democrat,” he added.
“Democrats take absolute power in Virginia and the first thing they do is introduce the ‘Legalize Crime’, ‘Steal All Future Elections’, and ‘Duplicate Somali Daycare Fraud’ Acts,” declared Virginia political commentator Christian Heiens on X. “Democrats campaigned on ‘lower utility bills’ in 2025 and we’re instead getting lower sentences for robbery and outlawing hand-counting election ballots in 2026.”

“Democrats in Virginia have introduced a bill to eliminate mandatory minimum sentencing for rape, manslaughter, assaulting a law enforcement officer, possession and distribution of child pornography, and all repeat violent felonies,” noted Heiens.
“If this passes, judges will be able to impose no prison time at all on someone if they are convicted of any of these crimes,” explained Heiens. “We’ve already seen this take place in other Blue states (and in some European countries), where criminals are given light or, in some cases, no sentence at all for crimes they commit because bleeding heart liberals sitting on the bench believe they just don’t know any better.”

As reported by LifeSiteNews, Virginia Democrats also want to remove virtually all restrictions to the direct killing of preborn girls and boys.
Democrats’ “extreme abortion amendment, which will proceed to a referendum for voters to decide later this year, would go far beyond even what Roe v. Wade previously allowed,” explained a joint statement by Virginia’s bishops. “It would enshrine virtually unlimited abortion at any stage of pregnancy, with no age restriction.”
More than that, state Democrats have introduced a bill mandating that all health insurance contracts include coverage to pay for over-the-counter condoms.
In another incredible move meant to weaken Virginia citizens’ control over their own lives, the newly elected legislature has proposed to virtually eliminate election integrity in the state.

Catholic political commentator Greg Price compiled a list of some of the many bills Democrats hope to ram into law now that they hold all the levers of power in Virginia.
