Australian Prime Minister accidentally leaks royal tour details | Royal | News

The Australian Prime Minister has accidentally leaked details of a royal tour in a live interview this week. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese sat down for an interview on Kiis FM with Australian radio host Kyle Sandilands, during which they discussed a number of topics.

One of the topics that was discussed was Donald Trump wanting Greenland, which then led to Albanese speaking about Queen Mary of Denmark, who is Australian. When talking about whether the US President should be given Greenland, the Australian Prime Minister said it is a “matter for the people of Greenland and the people of Denmark”.

He revealed: “Queen Mary is coming here.” When asked when, he then said: “She’ll be, she’ll be here – I’m not sure that we’ve publicly released the dates, but it’s quite exciting. Queen Mary and King Frederik.”

The radio host replied: “Yeah, and how fancy. I love these two.”

The fact that the Prime Minister said the dates have not been publicly released suggests he may not have divulged them.

In a TV appearance last year as part of a nature documentary, Queen Mary – who moved to Denmark from Australia in 2001 – spoke about her childhood in Australia.

She said: “I spent a lot of time out in the bush, in the forest. Where I lived, there was a forest on one side and a beach on the other. How lucky can you be? I had it all.”

She added: “Tasmania is dramatic, or varied, with rainforest and bush and cliffs and mountains.”
