Prince Harry has reportedly been mentoring Brooklyn Beckham in the wake of the latter’s explosive revelations about his parents football icon David Beckham, 50, and ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, 51.
The 26 year old broke years of silence on Instagram this week, publicly addressing his parents’ alleged efforts to “ruin” his marriage to Nicola Peltz. He condemned his family’s treatment of his wife and hinted that Victoria purposefully upstaged her during their wedding celebrations.
According to Radar Online, the Duke of Sussex, 41, has taken Brooklyn under his wing as he deals with the consequences of this very public family dispute, having endured comparable circumstances himself. Remarkably, Harry and Brooklyn’s wedding experiences share notable parallels.
Sources suggest that Harry, who understands the devastating impact of family rifts following his own split from the Royal Family in 2020, recognises striking similarities between their respective situations. The insider revealed he’s offering guidance to the young star on managing media attention in the wake of his disclosures.
Harry is said to be urging Brooklyn to exercise restraint when going public with his account. He’s reportedly cautioned that once the narrative is out there, there’s no taking it back.
“Harry sees a lot of himself in Brooklyn,” Rob Shuter disclosed, quoting a source. “He doesn’t want Brooklyn to make the same emotional and strategic mistakes he made when he first broke away.”
They continued, “Harry told him: don’t burn everything at once. You only get one chance to tell your story the right way.”
Prince Harry, who laid bare his own family’s private matters in his explosive memoir Spare, “stressed that honesty works best when it’s controlled, thoughtful, and human.
“He told him the freedom is real – but so is the fallout. You lose people. You get misunderstood. And once it’s out there, you can’t take it back.
“This is mentorship born from scars,” the source revealed. “Harry’s trying to help him survive the part no one prepares you for.”
Just days earlier on Instagram, Brooklyn announced, “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
He went on to say, “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events, and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,” he elaborated.
“Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
A follow-up post detailed how Brooklyn claims his parents aim to “ruin his relationship.”
He wed American actress Peltz, 31, in 2022, but the couple’s marriage has sparked considerable tension within the Beckham family.
Brooklyn stated, “My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.
“My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour, despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.
“Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.”
