We live in the stupidest possible timeline. If there are multiple universes, how did we get stuck in this one? The U.S. Attorney for Minnesota issued this press release today,
Minnesota Man Charged with Forcibly Assaulting Representative Ilhan Omar while She Engaged in Performance of her Official Duties.
No, not that kind of Minnesota Man. The man in question, Anthony James Kazmierczak, age 56, was charged today with assault of a federal official. The USAO reports,
Kazmierczak allegedly held a syringe in his hand, which he used to spray Rep. Omar with an initially unknown liquid substance, later identified as apple cider vinegar, which landed on Rep. Omar’s clothing and skin.

You will recall the 2017 case where U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) was attacked by his neighbor, a retired doctor. Rand suffered five (5) broken ribs in the incident.
Rand’s attacker pled guilty to the same charge as in the Omar case. The attacker received a jail sentence of just 30 days, later upped to 8 months on appeal.
Mr Kazmierczak will receive at least 10 years in maximum security.
