The Boss visits Minneapolis | Power Line

No, not Tom Homan. He’s here to stay. I’m speaking of Bruce Springsteen, who interrupted his dotage to appear on the historic stage at First Avenue to add his voice in protest against the enforcement of America’s immigration laws.

From the Minneapolis Star Tribune,

Bruce Springsteen takes charge of First Ave protest concert:

The Boss joined Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello in a midday benefit show denouncing ICE activity.

The event was part of another attempt at a general strike, which fizzled out without the backing of record cold weather. Again, from the Star Tribune,

Fewer Minnesota small businesses close for second protest in as many weeks:

After hundreds of local shops closed Jan. 23 and thousands of people marched in downtown Minneapolis, a second call for a general strike Jan. 30 was financially unfeasible for many.

So much for solidarity to the revolution. As the man once sang,

The highways jammed with broken heroes
On a last chance power drive
Everybody’s out on the run tonight
But there’s no place left to hide
