A73 crash: Four people including kids rushed to hospital | UK | News

Two adults and two children were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the A73 in Scotland. The road has now reopened between Lanark and Carluke after the cars collided at around 8.50am on Saturday. Emergency services rushed to the scene and hospitalised the two adults and two children. Their condition is currently unknown.

Police Scotland said: “The A73 Lanark Road has re-opened between Lanark and Carluke following a two vehicle crash reported around 8.50am on Sat 31 Jan. Emergency services attended and two adults and two children were taken to hospital for treatment. Road users are thanked for their patience.”

Officers closed the road for eight hours while crash investigators carried out work at the scene, before reopening it at around 4.50pm.

During this time, motorists were urged to avoid the area while those with injuries were attended to and clean-up operations got underway.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said yesterday: “The A73 Lanark Road is closed between Lanark and Carluke following a two vehicle crash reported to police around 8.50am on Saturday, 31 January.

“Emergency services are in attendance and road users are advised to avoid the area.”
